Adjust your lawn mower to a higher setting. Longer grass shades root systems and holds soil moisture better than a closely clipped lawn. Longer grass increases water retention and prevents soil erosion as a consequence. More insects are attracted to live in long grass, so in turn this attracts more wildlife and birds. We save water because we don’t have to water it as often if at all. The long grass traps evaporating early moisture dew and keeps it closer to the ground… Lush green long grass here we come!
