You’ll need needle-nose pliers to remove the old plastic strip from the channel and to push the new one into place. Remove the adhesive backing (if necessary) from the new rubber/vinyl strip, and slide it back into the channel. Cut the remaining unneeded length with a utility knife and apply a small line of silicone caulk to the end of the strip to prevent future leaks and shower door repair.
Shower Door Repair: Magnetic Catch
For this shower door repair you’ll need a screwdriver, utility knife or scissors, and a new magnetic strip. Unscrew the latch on the interior of the shower door, and remove it. Peel off the old strip and place the new one on top of it to match the lengths with your scissors or utility knife. Peel off the protective backing of the new strip and put it back on the bottom of your shower door. Re-screw the latch on and you’ll have working magnetic strips once again!
Shower Door Repair: Cracks
While it’s definitely unfortunate yet inevitable for cracks to appear on your shower doors, you don’t always have to go out and buy a brand new glass door if the damage is minor. Firstly, go visit your local store and pick up some quick-setting, water proof epoxy resin. Once back at your house, remove your shower door and clean it thoroughly. Apply the epoxy resin over the entire crack, and once it’s dry, use a small piece of sandpaper to flatten the surface once more.
